I am using Windows 98 and have lost my printer port. I recently went into Device Manager and I thought I had disabled the port, but I must have removed it instead. How can I retrieve the LPT1 port?
Just run the Add New Hardware Wizard. If you have deleted the driver for a device that exists, it will redetect it and ask if you want to install the drivers. If, for some reason, it doesn't detect the port, you can select the driver for it manually.
